“The inner critic is hard with us, so we’re going to be harsh with the inner critic.”
— Julie Greenham
The topic of this episode was actually requested by many of my listeners, and it’s one that I think will be especially helpful to the perfectionists out there: why are we so hard on ourselves... and what can we do about it?
As entrepreneurs and introverts, many of us deal with worries that we’re not good enough. We can tell ourselves things that we would never think of saying to another person!
Negative self talk is a problem that can have very real and harmful consequences, keeping us from taking advantage of exciting opportunities or taking the vital next steps in our businesses. It can also cause us to set wildly unrealistic goals… and then feel terrible when we can’t hit them.
When we believe that we’re not ‘fill-in-the-blank’ enough to succeed, these thoughts alone can hold us back from achieving our goals — even when they’re not based in any truth!
There are ways to fight back against your harsh inner critic. I want to provide you with a powerful toolbox to help you reframe your inner critic, push through the walls it builds up, and replace its poison with thoughts that bolster you instead.
With this episode, I hope that my voice in your headphones can help you combat the voice in your head that tells you that you’re falling short. Because the truth is that you’re doing just fine!
