“I call visualization a mental rehearsal for what we want to create in our physical world.”
— Julie Greenham
What do high-performing athletes and successful CEOs have in common? Creative visualization.
Creative visualization is a technique that helps you clarify your goals internally... and bring them into your exterior world. Did you know that the brain cannot tell the difference between something that you visualize in great detail and something that you actually experience? Talented performers and speakers use this to their advantage by visualizing themselves on stage delivering the perfect speech or monologue. Athletes visualize themselves scoring winning goals or completing challenging moves. And musicians use visualization to “practice” their music… without even touching their instrument.
Not only is visualization a useful tool for “training” your brain, but it’s also very powerful when it comes to channelling your energy and attracting your desired outcomes — you may have heard this described as “manifesting.” We are constantly visualizing without necessarily meaning to, through daydreaming. How much more powerful could our daydreams be if they were intentional?
The first step to creative visualization is being open to the belief that we can create our own desires. If you’re ready to move onto step two, it’s time to press play.
Let’s get started.
