LinkedIn is about so much more now than just posting or looking for a job — it’s a place to connect with ideal clients and build your network locally, nationally, or internationally.


While other platforms are riddled with toxicity and negativity, people on LinkedIn show up in ways that are authentic, supportive, and encouraging. 


You can use LinkedIn to advance your career, build networks, gain exposure, build engagement, generate leads, and establish thought leadership.


The trick? You have to show up and engage.


By sharing valuable insights, you’ll attract like-minded people and gain followers. Most people on LinkedIn just scroll through their newsfeed without contributing any content. Since such a small percentage of people post content on LinkedIn compared to Facebook or Twitter, your posts will have a better chance of gaining visibility and engagement. 


The more you post, the more you become a real person to your followers.


In addition to posting relevant, interesting content, Laura advises savvy introverts to engage with other people’s posts as a way to strengthen connections and remain at the top of your prospects’ minds. Hit the ‘like’ button, drop an emoji, leave a comment, and/or share.


Eventually, when they have a problem that your offer can help them solve, they’ll remember and likely reach out to you! The sales process will be more organic and you’ll have already laid the groundwork of trust.
